    Let's Break it Down

Stated most simply, menopause is a time of reproductive transition in a woman’s body. Every woman who lives to a sufficient age will experience menopause. It is completely natural, and a normal part of the reproductive life cycle.

Menopause means the end of reproductive preparations. After menopause, a woman has transitioned out of her child-bearing years. She will no longer experience a menstrual cycle, and other biological preparations for conceiving and supporting a pregnancy.

This process typically occurs over a period of years that are often marked by uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings.

What is Happening in the Body?

Like a child’s rapid growth, or an adolescent’s gender specific developments, menopause is triggered by instructions from our DNA itself. A woman’s genes are what tells her when it is time to start menopause. The body accomplishes this task, like it does so many others, by causing a change in hormone levels.

Hormones are our bodies messengers, sending signals to our bones and muscles and organs to grow or shrink or replicate. Hormones tell our bodies what to produce, and how much of it. In short, our hormones tell the parts of the body what needs to be done. These various hormones are constantly at play in our bodies, but a rise or fall in hormone levels will cause changes.

What Hormonal Changes Take Place During Menopause?

Post-menopausal women show significantly less estrogen and progesterone than they did in their child-bearing years. But the transitional time that we refer to as menopause is different for every woman, and quite a bit of fluctuation occurs during the process. Generally speaking, however, we know that both estrogen and progesterone will decline significantly during these years.

    Why Hormone Replacement?

While menopause is a natural phase of life, some of the experience can be less than pleasant. Many women feel like they are losing part of what makes them a woman, beyond the ability to conceive.
Menopause can negatively effect your daily life, from hot flashes, to lowered sex drive and function. By supplementing deficient hormones, it's possible to eliminate unwanted symptoms, and reclaim your quality of life.

    Where to Start

The #1 question we get here at Smoky Mountain Nutrition is “Where did you get those shoes?” But a close second has to be “What products are right for my situation?”

Sometimes that question is difficult. In the case of menopause treatment, we know that every woman is different. Hormone levels vary, and so does the way that women react to those levels. Because of this variation there is no cheat sheet, or one silver bullet.

But the good news is that we’ve been doing this for a while now, and we’ve seen a few things. You may need to stick with it a bit, but you can find what works for you. We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of women find relief from menopause with our various products. We’d like to share some of what we’ve learned.

    Three Core Products

Our top recommendation for women suffering significantly with the symptoms of menopause is to use our three core products: Estro-Life, Progesto-Life, and DIM.

Estro-Life is an estrogen supplement cream that helps you regain desired levels of the hormone that has traditionally been most closely associated with femininity, as well as menopause treatment.

Progesto-Life is a progesterone supplement cream. In recent decades women and medical professionals alike have discovered just how important progesterone is to menopause treatment. Because progesterone levels decline drastically during menopause, a progesterone supplement is actually thought to be even more important than estrogen to successful menopause treatment.

DIM rounds out the picture by promoting the body’s natural metabolism of the excess potent forms of estrogen. In our modern world, potent estrogen levels are often elevated, even when overall estrogen levels are deficient. This causes an imbalance with progesterone, called estrogen dominance. Menopause slashes progesterone levels, making estrogen dominance prominent and problematic.

We've bundled these core products together and offered them at a discount in our Menopause Solution Bundle. This lineup is the most powerful resource for most menopausal women.

What is the #1 Product For Me?

Not every woman will want to try all three core menopause treatment products. If this sounds like you, then you’re not alone. Whether it’s a lack of familiarity with Bio-identical Hormone Replacement, a desire to spend less, or you just want to make a smaller commitment to start, we’re confident that you can still get results. No matter your reason, we want you to know that each one of our products has a ton to offer. In fact, we have many customers who use only one or two of our products and absolutely achieve the results and the relief that they’re after.

So what single product is the most important for you?

Estro-Life is our first recommendation for the symptoms of female dryness such as discomfort during intimacy. Skin and hair issues also indicate that Estro-Life should be the primary product recommendation.

Progesto-Life is our first recommendation for hot flashes and night sweats, as well as mood swings, brain fog, lack of desire for intimacy, and insomnia.

Finally, DIM would be the first recommendation for unwanted weight gain, and hormonal acne.

Years of offering these products, and receiving feedback from our customers, have shown trends of effectiveness for single products, based on particular menopause symptoms.

If you’re going for only one or two products, pick what most closely matches your individual needs.

    Testing Matters

Whether you’re going through menopause, or are post-menopausal, having your hormone levels checked is a great idea. Your doctor can get a blood test done for you, or you can order one of our ZRT Hormone Test Kits. A saliva sample is all ZRT Laboratories needs to determine your levels.

ZRT Test Kits from our site include the testing of three hormones: Progesterone, estriol (the most common form of estrogen in the body), and estradiol (a powerful estrogen that can indicate synthetic estrogen presence).

No matter how you decide to learn your levels, it’s a real advantage. Actually knowing where your deficiencies lie takes out any guess work.

Testing your hormones before supplementing is the most responsible step you can take. Knowing your hormone levels puts you in the driver’s seat. Seeing your levels also allows you to objectively observe your progress after you’ve been using our products.
